Booked Job ("Booked Job," "we," "us," or "our") publishes free content and tools for home-service business owners at booked-job.com, and operates automated tools that publish our own content to our own social media accounts. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and your rights. It also includes a dedicated section describing Booked Job Auto Social, our integration with the TikTok API.

1. Information we collect

From visitors to our website

Email address — only if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter or request a resource. We do not require any other personal detail to subscribe.
Aggregated usage data — standard, non-identifying analytics such as pages visited, referring source, approximate region, and device/browser type, used to understand which content is helpful.
We do not collect financial information, government IDs, or precise location, and we do not build advertising profiles of individual visitors.

From the accounts we connect for automation

When we (as the account owner) connect our own social media accounts to our automation, we hold the access tokens and basic account identifiers needed to publish our own content to those accounts. See Social media automation and TikTok below.

2. How we use information

To send the newsletter and resources you requested, and to measure whether our content is useful.
To operate, secure, and improve the website and tools.
To publish our own content to our own connected social media accounts through our automation.
To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell it.

3. Social media automation

Booked Job runs software that schedules and publishes our own marketing content (posts, images, and videos we create) to social media and content platforms that we own or control. This automation:

publishes only content we create ourselves, to accounts we own and have authorized;
uses access tokens/credentials that we store securely and use solely to publish and to read basic performance metrics for our own posts;
does not collect, scrape, store, or process the personal data of other users, followers, or viewers of those platforms; and
is subject to each platform's own developer and user terms, which govern any data those platforms collect from you when you view our content there.

Platforms we may publish to include Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, Telegram, Tumblr, Blogger/Blogspot, Telegraph, and GitHub Pages.

4. TikTok — "Booked Job Auto Social"

Booked Job Auto Social is our internal application that integrates with the TikTok API to publish our own video content to our own TikTok account. This section describes how it handles TikTok data, in accordance with the TikTok Developer Terms of Service, the TikTok Developer Privacy Policy requirements, and the TikTok Community Guidelines.

What the app does

Booked Job Auto Social lets the authorized account owner schedule and publish their own videos and posts to their own connected TikTok account. It is a content-publishing tool for the account owner; it is not offered to the general public and does not act on behalf of third parties.

We request only the permissions needed for these functions, and only the account owner grants them via TikTok's standard OAuth consent screen.

How we use TikTok data

Solely to publish the account owner's own content to their own TikTok account and to report basic performance of that content.
We do not sell TikTok data, use it for advertising or profiling, share it with third parties for their own purposes, or use it to build products about other TikTok users.
We do not collect or store data about other TikTok users, followers, or viewers.

Storage, security, retention & deletion of TikTok data

TikTok access and refresh tokens are stored securely (encrypted at rest, restricted access) and used only to publish content and read our own metrics.
We retain tokens only while the integration is connected. If the account owner disconnects the app, revokes access in their TikTok settings, or requests deletion, we delete the associated TikTok tokens and identifiers promptly (within 30 days).
To revoke access at any time: remove the app under TikTok → Settings and privacy → Security & permissions → Manage app permissions, or email us (below) to request deletion of any TikTok data we hold.

Compliance

Booked Job Auto Social operates in accordance with the TikTok Developer Terms of Service, TikTok's Community Guidelines and Advertising Policies, and applicable data-protection laws. Your use of TikTok itself is governed by TikTok's own Privacy Policy.

5. Service providers & sub-processors

We rely on trusted third parties to run the site and the automation. They process data only as needed to provide their service to us:

We do not authorize these providers to use your information for their own marketing.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it except: with the service providers above (to operate our service), when required by law, or to protect our rights and users. We do not disclose TikTok data to any third party for that party's own purposes.

7. Data retention

We keep newsletter email addresses until you unsubscribe or request deletion. We keep connected-account tokens only while the integration is active (see TikTok section for specifics). Aggregated analytics are retained in de-identified form.

8. Your rights & choices

Unsubscribe anytime via the link in any newsletter email.
Access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you by emailing us (below). This includes the right, under laws such as the GDPR and CCPA/CPRA, to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your data, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" (we do neither).
Disconnect / revoke any connected platform integration, including TikTok, at any time (see TikTok section).
You can browse the site without subscribing or providing personal information.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards — including encryption in transit, encrypted storage of access tokens, and restricted access — to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and to disclose any material breach as required by law.

10. International users & children

We operate from the United States; if you access the site from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the U.S. Booked Job is intended for business owners and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes

We may update this policy; we will revise the "last updated" date above and note material changes on this page.
